New Delhi , November 2 (ANI): Delhi continued to grapple with poor air quality on Monday, with the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) ranging between 385 and 428, while several areas across the national capital recorded pollution levels in the 'Very Poor' category, after last week’s brief respite brought by rain.
Amid the prevailing pollution conditions, ITC Maurya has outlined a range of measures to maintain indoor air quality, including multi-stage filtration systems, high-efficiency filters and a misting system along the hotel's boundary facing the road to help reduce dust dispersion.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI around Akshardham Temple and ITO stood at 349 each, falling in the 'Very Poor' category. The air quality around India Gate and Janpath was recorded at 335.
Among other monitoring stations, Rohini recorded an AQI of 396, followed by Alipur at 375, Vivek Vihar at 370 and Narela at 363. Chandni Chowk registered 358, while Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium recorded 343 and Burari stood at 308.
The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport's Terminal 3 registered 263. Anand Vihar recorded 242, with these locations falling in the 'Poor' category.
Meanwhile, speaking about the hotel's air quality management measures, Amaan R Kidwai, Area Manager Luxury Hotels (North) and General Manager of ITC Maurya, said maintaining a clean and comfortable environment was an important part of its commitment to responsible luxury.
"At ITC Maurya, maintaining a clean and comfortable environment is an important part of our commitment to responsible luxury. We follow multi-stage filtration systems across our Air Handling and fresh air units with high-efficiency filters designed to capture particulate matter. Our filtration systems are maintained through scheduled replacements and continuous differential pressure monitoring to ensure optimal functioning," Kidwai said.
He added that an interactive plaque in the hotel's lobby displays real-time ambient air quality details, while indoor PM2.5 levels are maintained in line with clean indoor air quality levels recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
"As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable operations, ITC Maurya has installed a misting system along the hotel's boundary towards the road to help mitigate dust dispersion and improve the surrounding microclimate," he said.
Kidwai said these measures reflected the hotel's approach to air quality management, particularly during the challenging pollution season in the region, with a focus on maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for guests and employees. (ANI)
